Hermanus is one of the best known whale watching stations in the world where the whales come right next to the rocks on shore to get a better look at the whale watchers. To add on, there are many kilometers of hiking trails along the sea, in the surrounding mountains and along the beaches right up to Gansbaai. Exceptionally beautiful golf courses, restaurants, cycling routes, cray fish diving and many other unique activities not found in most other places.
This includes:
- Shore and boat based whale watching
- Cage diving with the Great Whites
- Playing golf on the nearby scenic courses
- Hiking along many kilometers of trails along the shore and in the mountains
- Mountain biking in the scenic Hemel and Aarde Valley
